Having enjoyed a 15-month romance, the reality star recently confessed to her followers that she and Joey were still on speaking terms, and planned to see each other when he is released from prison.
However, Lauren broke down when setting things straight about her crumbled romance with the jailbird on Loose Women the following month.
Joey and accomplice, Marvin Russell Jacobs, were sentenced to 16 years in jail for a series of drugs-related and violence charges.
‘He was meant to come out, last year, in November and things were great,’ she explained, composed at first. ‘But where things got set back, it put strain on us. I couldn’t wait no more. It was too much pressure.’
Despite sharing hopes that she would marry and have children with him, Lauren’s dreams were snatched out of reach when his sentence was extended.
‘I was going out and drinking,’ she said, of her coping methods. ‘It was mentally draining. And I don’t want to bad mouth him – it was a lot of pressure for him too.’
