Passengers of a ship had the shock of their lives as their boat battled through rough conditions, almost capsizing. 

The footage, taken in Honolulu, Hawaii, shows the charter chip being carried by a big wave while making its way back to dock after a sunset cruise. 

A witness who saw the scene unfold said: ‘[The captain] was coming into the channel to dock the boat, right when the biggest set of the day came.’

Luckily the captain and the passengers, who surround him at the wheel, were able to keep the ship upright together. 

At that moment the camera pans to a nearby group of surfers making the most of the waves. 

The other passengers of the boat are seen holding on to the mast and boom, trying their best to stay on the vessel.
