The horrifying moment a violent brawl erupts between footy fans after an AFL match has been captured on camera.

A fight between rival fans broke out in the Carlton members section after the Blues lost to Collingwood at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday.

Footage shows one man land a huge punch on his rival during the ugly fight in which several people were reportedly knocked out.

A bystander told 3AW said she had not seen such big fights in years.

‘There were four, full-on fights where people were knocked out,’ she said.

‘Security didn’t react quick enough so members of the public had to get in to stop these fights.

‘I missed the last five minutes of the game because I was breaking up fights.’

Victoria Police said they broke up ‘multiple separate altercations’ that broke out late in a match at the MCG.

‘Police and security attended immediately and prevented any further altercations,’ a spokeswoman said.

‘One man was treated for minor injuries and did not wish to make a statement but police located the alleged offender and have interviewed him in relation to the alleged assault.

‘He has been released pending further enquiries.’

Tensions were high after the game as the Pies scored five goals to make a comeback in the last 12 minutes of the match.

Collingwood beat Carlton by 19 points with 106 points.

The fight comes just a week after a Melbourne fan punched a disabled Hawthorn fan in the face and pulled him to the ground.

A Demons fan allegedly made fun of a 34-year-old disabled Hawks supporter who responded by knocking the drink out of his hand.

Footage shows a Demons fan lunging at a Hawthorn fan – punching his face and then pulling him to the ground.
