Hungry Jack’s dramatic drive-thru arrest outside Darwin as police draw firearms

Bizarre moment suspect surrounded by heavily armed plainclothes cops at Hungry Jack’s drive-thru keeps lashing out at them

  • Armed undercover officers pointed guns inside the windows of a blue ute 
  • Two men inside the ute appeared to struggle with the officers during the arrest 

Undercover cops armed with shotguns pulled their weapons on suspects as they made a dramatic arrest in a Hungry Jack’s drive-thru.

Witnesses filmed the confronting scene off the Stuart Highway just outside Darwin at 6pm on Thursday. 

One video shows officers swarming around the blocked in blue ute as smoke fills the drive-thru. 

Another clip appears to show one of the men allegedly using a broken off window screen to lash out at the surrounding officers. 

The Territory Response Group officers, who were heavily armed an in plain-clothes, pointed their weapons inside the ute as they moved in. 

They appeared unfazed by the suspect waving the broken screen a them.  

It’s unclear at this stage what the men were arrested for.

Police dogs were also present at the scene at the time of the arrest. 

A police statement is expected to be released on Friday morning with details of the men’s charges. 

The two men are expected to face Darwin Local Court on Friday.
