Police in Brooklyn, New York are searching for a deranged man who cut off his wife’s arm and two fingers before disappearing.
Cops say that they were called to an apartment in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn at about noon on Thursday and found a 35-year-old pregnant woman, her right arm severed at the bicep, and missing two fingers from her left arm.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where the right arm was amputated. It was too damaged to reattach.

She was reported in critical, but stable condition.
Police are now searching for her husband, Yong Lu, 35. The New York Daily News reports that he fled the apartment before police arrived.
Lu is described as Asian, and he is 5’6″, and 130 pounds. He allegedly used a steak knife in the attack on his wife.

Neighbors in the Brooklyn neighborhood told the paper that the couple, who have school aged children, have lived there for about two years, and have not been very socially active.
The neighborhood is on edge as the search goes on for Lu, “I have a 5 and a 2-year-old,” Shirley Mei told WNBC-TV “It’s unsafe to walk around fearing that something might happen again. I live here, it’s unsafe now.”
