Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson is eliminated from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia – and reveals who he thinks will win the show

Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson was evicted from Wednesday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia.

The 60-year-old was sent home after receiving the least votes from the public.

After hosts Julia Morris and Dr Chris Brown announced Dicko would be leaving the show, he told the other cast members: ‘It’s good, I’ve loved it and it’s time to go. It’s been really really special.’

He later told the hosts he is ‘really grateful’ for the experience and has made lifelong friends.

‘I wasn’t expecting the lessons I was going to get out of this experience and I really was not expecting to fall in love with strangers like I did. I feel really grateful,’ he said.

Dicko also revealed he believes Liz Ellis will win the reality show.

‘I’ve got absolutely no doubt about it. As long as she gets to present her light every night,’ he said.

‘She’s one of the single most impressive human beings I’ve had the pleasure of ever spending time with.’

Dicko’s elimination comes after he revealed on Monday he was the one who handed Guy Sebastian his first royalty cheque – worth a whopping $1million.

The former Australian Idol judge, shared the story of the pop star’s early success on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The eye-watering earnings came after Sebastian’s debut album had raced up the Australian charts soon after it was released in December 2003.

At the time, the musician was only 21 years old and had just won Idol’s first season, Dicko said, adding that his debut album, Just as I Am, was ‘a massive success’.

He said it was the fastest selling album of all time in Australia, even beating John Farnham’s Whispering Jack.

‘We went out and took him for a bowl of pasta,’ Dicko continued.

‘And after the lunch we handed him an envelope. He said, ‘What’s this?’ We said, ‘It’s your first royalty cheque for all the records you’ve sold.’ And he took out the cheque and it said, ‘Guy Sebastian, one million dollars.”

Dicko added: ‘Never done it before and never done it since, but it was a special moment to give him.’
