A fitness influencer has revealed how she transformed her body, going from a size 16 to a size 8 by wearing waist trainers for at least two hours a day, as well as overhauling her diet and working out four times a week.
Alicja Brzostowska, 23, from London, regularly shares motivational posts and photos with her 293,000 Instagram followers (@alicja_ab), where she is known for her curvy figure.
However, her body used to look very different.

Although she wasn’t overweight at size 16, Alicja felt unhappy with her shape and it was affecting her mental health, so the fitness influencer decided to overhaul her entire lifestyle

But she didn’t want to lose her curves, just fine-tune her look.
‘I was very unhappy with my weight, I felt depressed and tired of feeling unattractive,’ Brzostowska said.
‘I wanted to lose weight but I didn’t want to lose my curves, just accentuate them.’

Over the course of a year, the fitness influencer began eating healthier, ditched takeaways and fatty foods and cut down on her alcohol intake.
Brzostowska said: ‘I’ve almost completely cut out synthetic sugar, fizzy drinks and oil.
‘I try to eat as clean as possible, which means I’m mostly on a plant-based diet and I also avoid any lactose.
‘I’ve really changed my mindset by wanting to choose healthier alternatives and avoid binging.
‘And I have also basically stopped drinking – except for the occasional glass of wine for special occasions.’

To drop the pounds while keeping her body toned and curvy, the social media star hit the gym four times a week doing a combination of weight training and cardio.
She also wore a waist trainer for two hours a day.

The fitness influencer said: ‘I had done a lot of weight training and cardio with a focus on my whole body, back training really helped with sculpting the waist, alongside a lot of deadlifting and hip thrusts for the lower body.

The 23-year-old now feels happier and proud of herself for sticking with it to gain the results she wanted
‘Using a waist trainer really did help me but make sure you invest in a good one if you do decide to use one – and don’t overdo it.’
A year later, she is now a size 8 and says the transformation is so dramatic that some friends have asked if she’d had work done.
Brzostowska, who is also known as the Figure Sculpt WaistTrainer, said: ‘Everyone was shocked, a lot of people asked me if I had surgery.
‘People can’t fathom that those results can be achieved without surgery.
‘They’d say, “No way that’s real,” or “who’s your surgeon?” and “wow, wish I could do this”.
