An infinity pool, sweeping hinterland views and a yoga dome: Inside the stunning $8,500-a-night Byron Bay retreat where Nicole Kidman’s Nine Perfect Strangers was filmed

Nicole Kidman and castmates including Melissa McCarthy and Bobby Cannavale spent weeks filming their new series, Nine Perfect Strangers, in Byron Bay.

Although the Hulu original, which airs on Amazon Prime in Australia, is set in California, locals of the NSW coastal town would recognise Soma anywhere.

The boutique retreat is located in the idyllic back hills of Ewingsdale and can be rented out for approximately $8,580 per night.

The property features a gorgeous infinity pool, sweeping hinterland views and its very own yoga dome.

‘With the intention of creating a space to recharge your batteries, Soma has been mindfully designed with a modern yet warm aesthetic, allowing clarity externally for whatever space you need within,’ it’s official website reads.

The ultra-modern space has also been used by Byron Bay local Chris Hemsworth, where he filmed videos for his fitness app.

The show stars the likes of Nicole Kidman, Luke Evans, Samara Weaving, Melissa McCarthy and Bobby Cannavale.

Nicole, 54, plays wellness resort director Masha in the limited series and insisted on staying in character for the five months while she was filming the drama.

She recently said that while filming she was ‘bats*** crazy’ and refused to answer to her own name in a bid to not make it seem she was ‘doing a performance’.

Joking she was ‘bats*** crazy’ – a line her character uses in the series – she explained during a TCA panel: ‘I’d only respond as Masha.’

She added: ‘I wanted a very calm healing energy to emanate all the time so I remember going over to people and sort of putting my hand on their heart, holding their hand, they would talk to me or use my name Nicole when I would completely ignore them.’
