Inside the VERY skinny home sandwiched between mansions that overlook one of Sydney’s best views

This VERY skinny home is on the market for a staggering EIGHT FIGURE price – proving  just how insane the Sydney property market has become

  •  One of the most eye-catching properties in Sydney has been listed for auction
  • The 213 square metre home is located on the waterfront in Darling Point
  • Realtors have given a price guide of $15.5million for the tall, skinny property

A harbourside home sandwiched between sprawling mansions in one of Sydney’s most exclusive suburbs is set to go under the hammer for an eye-watering price.

The four-bedroom, five-storey, 213-square-metre abode on the waterfront in Darling Point is priced at ‘just’ $15.5million, because it is so skinny.

Real estate agent Benjamin Goodwin told FEMAIL it’s almost unheard of to be able to buy ‘a piece of Darling Point for such a low price’.

‘There is nothing more surreal than hearing the waves lapping against your own backyard,’ he said of the home.

‘The first time I stepped inside my shoulders dropped, I just felt like I was on holiday.’

The rooms in the home, which was built in 1980, are just 3.9metres wide, owing to the narrowness of the property, which is listed by Ray White Eastern Suburbs.

Located on Carthona Street, the home features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two car spaces and a swimming pool.

It is also on one of the most exclusive waterfront locations in Sydney – a position which is just seven minutes to the CBD by boat.

The home last sold in 2014 but it was put back on the market in November 2018 where it sat for 421 days, awaiting expressions of interest.

But Mr Goodwin believes he will sell the lavish waterside property on or before February 12 when it is due to go up for auction.

The experienced realtor prides himself on properly preparing homes for sale and spent 17 days working with tradesmen to give the towering residence a facelift.

He re-did gardens and re-decorated to help the unique property resonate well with potential buyers.

‘It is a very sexy property,’ he said.

A sneak peek inside the home, which hit the market last Saturday, has bedrooms spread across the three top floors.

The master bedroom shares a level with the second bedroom and family bathroom but also features an ensuite and stunning water views.

Bedroom three, which is located off the entry hall, has access to the guest bathroom on the same level as well as an expansive terrace.

The fourth bedroom sits on level four and also has a private terrace. This room has no bathroom on the same level but is arguably the most private of all.

Level one features a spacious kitchen and dining area as well as a huge 8.2metre-long living room.

On the bottom floor there is a laundry, wet bar, patio and terrace which leads down to the pool and harbour.
