Irv Gotti suffered a stroke earlier this year, but the hip hop mogul is now on the road to recovery.

The 54-year-old music producer, known for his collaborations with A-listers like Jennifer Lopez and Ashanti, is on the mend after experiencing a minor stroke related to his ongoing battle with diabetes over six months ago, his representatives informed TMZ on Wednesday.

‘He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy,’ added the insider. ‘He’s been successful in making a full recovery.’

The outlet’s source also refuted Wack100’s claims made earlier this week on his podcast that Irv was in a rehab facility, emphasizing that he ‘is at home with his family, enjoying life.’

Despite this, Wack 100 shared a photo on Instagram showing Gotti using a cane, which he referred to as a ‘walker’, claiming he had insider knowledge from someone at the recovery center.

Wack 100 also noted that Irv has ‘lost a lot of weight’ during his reported health crisis.

He also urged fans to ‘pray for Irv Gotti.’

Irv has been open about his health struggles, revealing on the Drink Champs podcast last year that he has not yet managed to get his diabetes under control.

‘It’s rampant with Black people. What it does is, it starts deteriorating your body,’ he explained.

‘I’ve been diagnosed with diabetes forever; it’s hereditary.

‘When my [blood sugar] gets too high, shot [of insulin]. It’s reversible but you gotta change the way you eat — all that.’

He continued, ‘But you know what’s f*****up with diabetes? So anything that you’re gonna like or tastes good, horrible for you. Now what’s some nasty s***? Broccoli… you supposed to eat some leaves or sh** like that.’

Gotti is a prominent music producer and the co-founder of Murder Inc. Records, instrumental in shaping the sound of early 2000s hip-hop and R&B.

In 2019, Irv Gotti denied having an affair with Ashanti while he was married to Deb Lorenzo, who he divorced in 2013.

‘Ashanti is not a homewrecker, guys,’ Irv told Wendy Williams. ‘Ashanti had nothing to do with me and Deb!’
