Jacqui Lambie backs up Pauline Hanson telling Mehreen Faruqi to ‘p**s off back to Pakistan’

Jacqui Lambie has backed up Pauline Hanson after the controversial senator told a Greens colleague to ‘p**s off back to Pakistan’.

The One Nation leader took offence to Pakistani-born Greens deputy leader Mehreen Faruqi tweeting that she would not mourn the death of The Queen.

‘I cannot mourn the leader of a racist empire built on stolen lives, land and wealth of colonised peoples,’ Senator Faruqi posted on Friday.

‘We are reminded of the urgency of treaty with First Nations, justice and reparations for British colonies, and becoming a republic.’

Last year Senator Faruqi slammed the British empire for ‘enslaving millions of black and brown people around the world’.

Senator Hanson, who once moved a motion in the Senate that it was ‘ok to be white’, fired back at the Greens politician by suggesting she get out of Australia and that she had taken advantage of everything the country gave her.

‘Your attitude appuals and disgusts me. When you immigrated to Australia you took every advantage of this country,’ Senator Hanson wrote.

‘You took citizenship, bought multiple homes, and a job in a parliament. It’s clear you’re not happy, so pack your bags and p**s off back to Pakistan.’

Senator Lambie saw the One Nation leader’s words via a tweet from a news organisation and replied, ‘Pauline right on the mark!!!’

Followers of the independent MP were not impressed with her support for Senator Hanson’s ‘p**s off back to Pakistan’ comment.

Hanson: 'You took citizenship, bought multiple homes, and a job in a parliament. It¿s clear you're not happy, so pack your bags and piss off back to Pakistan'

Some pointed out that as an Aboriginal woman, Senator Lambie shouldn’t be supporting such language and should be be more sympathetic to Senator Faruqi’s point about indigenous Australians.

‘No, she isn’t Jackie. How can a white Australian tell a coloured Australian to go back where they came from? I’m a white Australian ashamed at what the crown has done in this nation,’ one wrote.

Another added: ‘No Jacqui! Just no… she is a racist, and to attack someone because they weren’t born here… it’s low, and it’s lazy.’

‘When you tweet that you agree with a racist you lose my vote and support – shame on you…you are a Senator. Behave with dignity… there is absolutely no place for racism of any kind,’ a third wrote.

However, there wasn’t much support for Senator Faruqi’s post either, as most voters thought it was disrespectful so soon after The Queen’s death.

Ms Faruqi’s post followed Greens leader Adam Bandt writing it is time to move forward and become a republic only five hours after the monarch’s death was announced.

‘Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with her family and all who loved her,’ he began – his entire condolence statement.

‘Now Australia must move forward. We need Treaty with First Nations people, and we need to become a Republic.’

Mr Bandt is a staunch republican who refuses to put the Australian flag with its Union Jack corner behind him at press conferences.

His comments were met with a rebuke from Liberal MP for Townsville and former soldier Phillip Thompson who labelled him ‘a clown of the highest order’.

‘You’re a clown of the highest order and a human of the lowest form,’ he wrote on Twitter.

‘Given you hate our nation so profoundly, I would encourage you to take a hike out of Australia and don’t look back. I think the nation would join me in celebrating your departure.’

Former deputy chief medical officer Dr Nick Coatsworth said Mr Bandt’s post showed why the Greens were a minor party.

‘Just quietly compare this with the statesmanlike words from Albanese and Dutton and reflect on why these guys are perpetually at 10 per cent. Have some respect, son,’ he said.

The Queen’s death was announced at 3.30am AEST and Australian morning TV shows broke the news an hour later, followed by a statement by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at 4.47am.

Mr Bandt waited until 8.27am to post his tweet calling for an Australian republic.
