James Argent cut a casual figure as he and his friend Louisa Johnson were seen leaving London’s Jazz Cafe on Wednesday night.

The former TOWIE star, 34, sported black tracksuit bottoms and a grey hooded top as he headed home after watching Louisa perform at a gig.

He showed off his slimmer frame in the sports gear while he kept comfortable in a pair of grey trainers with an orange stripe.

James appeared to be in excellent spirits as he flashed a huge grin and checked his phone after leaving enjoying a night filled with music.

Meanwhile, The X Factor winner Louisa, 24, flaunted her toned midriff in a bright blue co-ord set, consisting of wide leg trousers, a bandeau and a smart jacket.

She flaunted her natural good looks with a light dusting of bronzed make-up and a slick of pink lipstick as she left the gig within minutes of her friend James.

Louisa styled her golden tresses in loose waves across her shoulders as she flashed a huge smile and gave a thumbs-up while stepping out of the music venue.

He took to his Instagram Stories during the gig to share an array of videos of Louisa singing as he wrote ‘go on Louisa’ to support her while she belted out hits.

The outing comes after James revealed his post-surgery struggles during the final episode of The Real Dirty Dancing, which aired earlier this month.

He underwent life-saving gastric sleeve surgery last year after his weight ballooned to 27 stone.

He began filming the Channel 4 reality show just months after his surgery and in the middle of his weight loss journey, which had a huge impact on his dance abilities during the final routine.

During the final episode viewers saw James rehearsing his routine with dance partner Anthea Turner, ready to go head to head with fellow finalists Lee Ryan and Saffron Barker.

The show saw 10 celebrities competing in various challenges inspired by the iconic movie and Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey’s routines.

The final required the two couples to perform the famous Time Of My Life dance from the closing scenes of the movie, including the incredible lift.

As they rehearsed, James was seen looking nervous as the choreographers talked him and Anthea through the move, before telling the camera: ‘At the moment it’s hard enough picking up these moves, these dance steps, the lift I don’t even want to think about.’

Anthea agreed, admitting: ‘Everything hangs on the lift, it scares the life out of me.’

Arg went on to explain why he was nervous, pointing out: ‘There are concerns with the lift. Even though I’m a big guy, I’ve had major surgery and it’s only been a few months since.’

James had 70 percent of his stomach removed in the £10,000 operation, as he explained: ‘I’ve been through an awful lot, a few months ago it was a struggle to walk to the top of the stairs or to even have a small stroll. ‘

‘It’s a lot of strength that you need to be able to lift someone above your head, hold them there for a few seconds and then controlled descent,’ Anthea added.

‘There is a concern with Arg that although he’s lost so much weight he hasn’t been able to build that muscle up.’

In the end the couple decided to opt for ‘plan b’ and have two other contestants help Arg lift Anthea, as the ex TOWIE star explained: ‘As much as the dream would be to do the lift, we don’t feel comfortable and it’s taking up too much time and too much of our mental capacity.’

Last month, James also opened up about his relapse after suffering a ‘blip’ which saw him break two years of sobriety during a night out with friends.

The former TOWIE star, 34, told Loose Women he was ‘feeling okay’ again after ‘getting cocky and confident’ with his sobriety, which he explained triggered his lapse.

James, who is currently single, spoke of feeling isolated in his big Essex pad without a significant other or any sort of structure, as he told the hosts: ‘My chaos starts when I’m indoors, bored, lonely.’

Discussing how he has been getting on, James said: ‘I’m feeling good, I’m feeling okay. It was a shock to the system a few weeks ago…

‘I was clean and sober just over two years, I had to learn a very hard tough lesson, I haven’t let it get me down. It was a blip, I nipped in a bud but got straight back on it and doing well.

When asked what triggered the setback, James said: ‘It could be a number of things. I feel that I started getting complacent.

‘What went against me was I too confident and too cocky. If you asked me a few months ago, I would have put my house on never drinking again.

Slimmed down: James looked as happy as ever in a photo shared late last month as he donned a baggy shirt which swamped him after his incredible nine-and-a-half stone weight loss
