Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 21-year-old son taunts cops

The son of Jean-Claude Van Damme has been shown on the body camera of local Arizona police getting arrested at his apartment on suspicion of threatening his roommate with a kitchen night after a two-hour standoff.

Video shows Tempe Police Department officers yelling through the University house apartment door to lure out Nicholas Van Varenberg, 21, near the Arizona State University’s Tempe campus.

‘Do you guys want some fame or something or what?’ Van Varenberg asked Tempe Officer Ryan Conway when cops were finally able to get him out the home, according to AZ Central.

Upon Van Varenberg’s refusal to come out, officers heard his roommate ask the actor’s son if he was going to kill him.

The victim was eventually able to get out the room safely, in an hour.

According to police report and video, backup officers arrived on the scene and tried to have the roommate challenge Van Varenberg to a fight in an attempt to lure him out.

The roommate appeared to be scared of Van Varenberg, however, when talking to police at the scene, the video shows.

An officer working at the building noted Van Varenberg’s hand bleeding after punching an elevator wall.

But since Van Varenberg declined medical attention and the officer determined no crime was committed, the cop left.

Someone soon complained about loud noises coming from the room.

When the officer went to talk to the interdisciplinary studies major the second time around, he allegedly threatened his roommate with a kitchen knife if he opened the door for police.

‘You were bullied in high school, buddy,’ Van Varenberg told Conway, police said.

The roommate told police he had to do what Van Varenberg demanded or his ‘parents will be at my funeral in two days,’ according to the police report.

When asked if he wanted to have the case prosecuted if evidence of a crime was found, the roommate told police yes.

‘I’d love to be protected and safe,’ the roommate said.

Officers obtained a sword, shotgun, drug paraphernalia related to marijuana use, a knife and Van Varenberg’s ASU ID and his Oregon driver’s license.
