Jeffrey Epstein’s multimillionaire brother is seen heading to the NYC subway

Jeffrey Epstein’s brother Mark, the sole heir to multimillion-dollar fortune, has been seen for the first time today since the convicted pedophile committed suicide in his New York jail cell.

In exclusive pictures obtained by DailyMail.com, Mark Epstein, 65, was seen leaving his apartment in Tribeca around 8.30am and walking to the subway.

Dressed in a white shirt, jeans, wearing sunglasses and a Panama hat, the younger Epstein brother strode to a subway station and headed uptown, with a backpack and carrying a newspaper.

Mark Epstein was named as his brother’s sole heir in Jeffrey Epstein’s Last Will and Testament, the details of which were revealed on Monday.

Epstein, 66, signed the will two days before hanging himself in his cell on August 10 at the Metropolitan Correctional Center. His death is currently under federal investigation.

Mark Epstein told Reuters that he had viewed his brother’s body in the morgue the following day.

In his will, which was filed in a probate court in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Epstein put his net worth at over $577 million, which is almost $20 million more than he told a federal judge he was worth in a court filing last month.

His long-time lawyer Darren Indyke and close friend Richard Kahn were appointed as the executors of his estate. Epstein put all of his holdings in a trust that he called The 1953 Trust, presumably after the year of his birth.

It was announced on Monday that the case against Epstein had been dropped, with prosecutors submitting a letter to the court asking that Judge Richard Berman grant their request for a nolle prosequi.

Epstein had faced federal charges of sex trafficking of a minor and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking after he was arrested when his private jet landed at Teteboro Airport in early July from Paris.

Prosecutors alleged that Jeffrey Epstein had sexually assaulted girls as young as 14, to which the financier had pleaded not guilty. His brother Mark had offered his Florida home as collateral for his bail which was denied by a judge.

Several of Epstein’s alleged victims have sued his estate following his death.

Mark Epstein is the only brother of Jeffrey Epstein. They spent their childhood in Sea Gate, Brooklyn with their parents Seymour and Pauline Epstein.

He has been the owner of real estate company, Ossa Properties, for the past three decades. He is also a former board chairman at Cooper Union in Manhattan.

Last month, Mark Epstein told Crains that there was no link between his real estate business and his brother’s investments – despite documents allegedly linking Ossa Properties to J. Epstein & Co.

In 2009, the New York Post reported that Jeffrey Epstein had allegedly provided apartments for several victims at 301 East 66th Street – a building owned by Ossa Properties.

Also included in the documents was Epstein's death certificate (pictured), which was submitted before his cause of death had been determined by the coroner

In addition to his brother, Epstein is survived by two aunts, an uncle and a cousin who all reside in New York.

Indyke, who is a resident of Florida, and New York resident Kahn were both named executors of Epstein’s will despite the fact that neither man lives in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

It revealed that Epstein’s funeral took place last Tuesday in New York City at the Frank Campbell Funeral Home.

It also states that Epstein was a consultant who was born in Brooklyn and lists Little Saint James as his primary residence.
