Mr Hunt said: ‘The sense of misguided political correctness that has stopped us standing up for Christians overseas must end.
‘We all benefit from living in a tolerant, diverse society and we should not be afraid of promoting those values abroad.
‘Christians are the most persecuted religion group in modern times. I am determined to show that we are on their side.
‘There is nothing more medieval than to despise someone on the basis of their faith.’
The report, commissioned by Mr Hunt, calls for the UK to flex its muscles at the United Nations.
