Jetstar flight is forced to make unexpected landing at Sydney midway through journey

A Jetstar flight was forced to make an unexpected landing midway through its journey due to an electrical issue.

The Airbus A321-200 was flying from Cairns, Queensland and was on its way to Melbourne when the plane had electrical problems on Wednesday.

The Jetstar flight landed safely in Sydney about 45 minutes later.

Passengers from the flight were given a replacement Airbus A321-200 but reached Melbourne with a delay of over eight hours.

The aircraft that had to be diverted returned to flying passengers five-and-a-half hours after landing in Sydney.

It is understood the the plane suffered an ‘ELEC AC BUS 2’.
