Democratic 2020 frontrunner Joe Biden is getting railed on social media after he posted a tweet about unseating President Donald Trump that many have deemed over-confident.

The tweet shared Sunday on Biden’s official Twitter account – which may have come from him or a member of his campaign team – read: ‘In one year, we will give Trump a nickname of his own: Former President Donald Trump.’

It marked 365 days until the presidential election, which will be held on November 3, 2020.

Several users seized on Biden’s tweet, noting that he hasn’t secured his party’s nomination yet.

‘And we will give you yours: Not the President Biden,’ Joey Saldino, a Republican running for Congress in New York City, tweeted in response.

‘Thank goodness Bernie’s political revolution is able to get us there,’ another person joked.

Others commented about the post’s lack of originality, with one writing: ‘I like you, joe (sic), but your social media community managers could use some help with their wit.’

They noted that fellow frontrunner Bernie Sanders posted a similar tweet about defeating Trump some six hours earlier.

‘One year from today, we’re going to defeat Donald Trump,’ the Vermont senator wrote.

Another poll by Fox News, whose viewers typically lean right, indicated that Biden was up 12 points.

The latest Biden tweet drew parallels to one that then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton posted shortly before the 2016 election calling herself ‘future president’.

At the time, Clinton was also forecasted to handily beat Trump in the election.
