Joe Biden’s granddaughter Naomi channels Jackie O at family gathering

President Joe Biden’s granddaughter Naomi turned to another famous first couple for fashion inspiration this weekend, when she channeled former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in an elegant pink skirt suit while celebrating her engagement to long-time boyfriend Peter Neal.

The 27-year-old, who is the daughter of Biden’s son Hunter, 51, and his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, 52, put on a very stylish display as she joined her mother and sisters Maisy and Finnegan to toast her happy news during an intimate family gathering.

Naomi took to Instagram on Monday to share several images from the celebration, for which she donned a short-sleeved, cropped pink jacket over a matching high-waisted skirt, before topping the whole look off with a pair of chic white heels – and, of course, her dazzling engagement ring.

In one image, the bride-to-be is seen flashing her diamond while posing with her future husband, who looked dapper in a brown-and-navy plaid blazer, velvet brown trousers, a grey sweater, and a white collared shirt.

The happy couple, who announced their engagement over Labor Day weekend, are the picture of romantic bliss in the images, one of which shows them gazing into each others’ eyes while standing outside a stunning red-brick house, while another sees them walking hand-in-hand away from the camera, with Naomi flashing a quick look back at the lens.

Celebration! President Joe Biden’s granddaughter Naomi, 27, proudly showed off her engagement ring while spending time with her fiance Peter Neal over the weekend in what appears to have been a belated celebration

Neal is the son of orthopedic surgeons based in Wyoming, and he graduated from Penn Law, according to The List, while Naomi graduated from the University of Pennsylvania last year and is now working for an international law firm based in Washington D.C.

Other photos taken during the gathering show Naomi posing happily with her sisters, Finnegan, 21, and Maisy, 20, as well as their mother Kathleen, all of whom were dressed to the nines for the special occasion.

University of Pennsylvania student Finnegan looked ready for an adventure in the countryside in a beige plaid blazer, white collared shirt, and tanned leather pants – which she paired with some open-toe heels, while her blonde locks were styled in a loose waves around her shoulders.

Her younger sibling Maisy stuck to her signature casual style in a pair of white-black-and-red sneakers, which she wore with some cuffed navy trousers, a navy sweater, and a speckled blazer, adding a pop of color with a bright green-and-blue shirt collar.

Meanwhile the siblings’ mother Kathleen wore a colorful floral midi skirt with a black T-shirt and some matching black heels as she posed for a sweet family photo with her three daughters.

While sharing the snaps on her Instagram, newly-engaged Naomi added a sweet and simple caption, writing: ‘Full [heart]’ alongside the photos.

But while she kept her caption very short and sweet, her friends and followers didn’t hold back when it came to the gushing comments they left on the images, many of which drew comparisons between Naomi and former First Lady Jackie O.

‘OK Jackie O vibes,’ one person wrote, while another chimed in: ‘Jackie O vibes. Immaculate.’

A third person also pointed out the similarities between Naomi and another style legend, writing: ‘That’s not a dress that’s an Audrey Hepburn movie.’

One of the newest members of the Biden family, former Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King, who tied the knot with the President’s nephew Cuffe Owens last month, also gushed over the photos, writing: ‘DDG [drop dead gorgeous]… all of you’ alongside the snaps.

Missing from the family gathering was Kathleen’s ex-husband Hunter – who is father to Naomi, Finnegan, and Maisy and who spent last week in New York City, where he is currently exhibiting a collection of his paintings, which are on sale at a SoHo art gallery for $500,000.

The scandal-ridden First Son was pictured making his way to the gallery on Wednesday evening with his second wife Melissa Cohen and their son Beau – before snapping at a reporter who tried to grill him about his notorious laptop as he made his way inside the space.

When asked by reporters if he’d gotten the laptop back from the FBI after it had been left at a Delaware repair shop in 2019, he grinned and said ‘there’s always a smartass in the bunch.’

His wife then joked that the laptop ‘doesn’t exist.’

Her comment came as a new book on the President verified that at least some of the information found on a laptop allegedly belonging to Hunter is real – months after incriminating emails regarding the First Son’s dealings with Ukraine were examined in a DailyMail.com investigation.

Materials that were confirmed as real include an infamous 2015 email from Ukrainian businessman Vadym Pozharskyi thanking Hunter for the chance to meet his father, then only Vice President Biden.

Someone with independent access to Hunter’s emails confirmed he received the message.

Despite the scandal surrounding their father, Naomi, Finnegan, and Maisy have continued to show public support for him over the years.

Maisy was actually pictured spending time with Hunter last Tuesday during his trip to New York, where the pair were seen strolling along the sidewalk together before returning to the upscale Greenwich Hotel.

The three Biden sisters were launched onto the world stage during the President’s campaign, throughout which they all made several appearances alongside their grandfather at a variety of different events.

Newly-engaged Naomi, who began dating her fiance in 2018, demonstrated an early interest in international affairs when her grandfather was Vice President to then-President Barack Obama, often accompanying him on international trips to New Zealand, Turkey and China.

Naomi now uses her platform to defend her grandfather from his critics while also promoting progressive ideals on her Twitter page.

And just last year, she and Neal coded their own website, Coronavirus Aid and Relief Guide, to help those that were financially hurt by the coronavirus lockdowns.

Naomi is named after President Biden’s late daughter, who died in a car accident with her, Hunter and Beau’s mother, Neilia in 1972, shortly after Biden was first elected to serve in the United States Senate.

Along with his son Hunter, Biden shares a daughter with his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, Ashley. His eldest son, Beau, died of brain cancer in 2015.

‘Joe and Jill Biden are incredibly close to their children and grandchildren,’ said Sen. Chris Coons, a Democrat from Delaware who has known the president for decades.

‘Having lost Beau, in what was a great tragedy in their lives, has made them even more intensely close to both children and more determined to be good grandparents.’

He added that the Bidens ‘have a sense of joy and open-heartedness that comes even more abundantly clear when they’re in the presence of their grandchildren.’

However, it appears that both Joe and Jill skipped the family gathering over the weekend – when the President found himself mired in controversy after rumors surfaced of a rift between himself and his Vice President Kamala Harris.

The pair put on an awkward attempt to quash the speculation on Monday, when they put on an over-the-top display of camaraderie while signing Biden’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill in front of 800 lawmakers.
