Joe Burrow is expected to play for the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night against the Rams but is still struggling with a calf issue.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network says the 26-year-old should start but is less than 100 per cent.

He has been toiling with the calf issue sustained early on in the training camp for the Bengals.

The Bengals have given Burrow every opportunity to be available for tonight’s game and prove that he is healthy.

Earlier on Monday, head coach Zach Taylor was at the Paycor Stadium and still refused to tell ESPN whether his star man could play.

‘We aren’t ready to reveal a decision just yet and will wait a couple more hours before we make a call,’ he said.

But it now appears that Burrow has been cleared to play, even with the Bengals elevating Reid Sinnett from the practice squad earlier, according to Rapoport.

The Bengals need their star man on Monday night – the team has lost their first two games of the season and is eagerly in pursuit of a first win.

The season began with a 24-3 loss to the Browns and that was followed by a 27-24 loss at home to the Baltimore Ravens.
