Joe Salisbury advances to the third round of the US Open – as he and partner Rajeev Ram look to defend their men’s doubles title

Joe Salisbury has advanced to the third round of the US Open alongside American partner Rajeev Ram.

The pair defeated Australian Luke Saville and Russian Aslan Karatsev 6-4 6-3 in New York.

Salisbury is a four-time Grand Slam champion, and he and Ram are attempting to defend the US Open Men’s Doubles crown that they earned defeating Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares last year.

The top seeds began the defence of their title with a straight-sets victory over Argentine Federico Coria and Colombian Cristian Rodriguez on Thursday.
