Jordi Alba ‘retires from international football’ as Inter Miami defender calls time on glittering career with Spain

Jordi Alba has retired from international football, AS has reported.

Alba made 93 appearances for Spain, scoring nine goals, and won the 2012 Euros with La Roja.

He last played for Spain as they beat Croatia in the Nations League final on penalties this past June.

Alba made his debut for Spain on October 11, 2011 against Scotland.

According to AS, he told La Roja coach Luis de la Fuente ‘several weeks ago’ of his decision. 

Alba took part in the 2014, 2018 and 2022 World Cups for Spain, and also took part in the 2016 and 2020 Euros.
