Kate Middleton pops out to yummy mummy haven Peter Jones in Sloane Square

The Duchess of Cambridge dressed down in jeans and a knit jumper as she headed out on a shopping trip in south west London.

Kate, 40, was spotted leaving Peter Jones, in Sloane Square, with a large black fabric shopping bag in one hand before climbing into the back of a chauffeur-driven BMW parked outside the back entrance to the department store.

Kate opted for a low-key ensemble for the outing, pairing blue skinny jeans with a £449 Polo Ralph Lauren grey cable knit jumper, favourite £249 Massimo Dutti check coat and £170 boots from celeb-loved brand Blundstone.

With a casual outfit and disposable blue mask covering most of her face, Kate would have blended in with the other yummy mummies popping in for a spot of shopping.

Peter Jones, which is owned by John Lewis, sells everything from children’s clothes to homeware, making it a popular one-stop shop for busy working parents like Kate.

Well-heeled Chelsea is a popular shopping destination for the Middletons and the Royal Family, with Kate’s sister Pippa and Princess Beatrice both spotted browsing in the area.

While the Duchess was inside the store, her driver was approached by two women who appeared to take issue with the way he had parked on the curb. Moments later, he pulled off the curb and parked on the road.

He was waiting for his royal passenger when she emerged from the back entrance and made a beeline for the waiting car.

Two women walking down the street appeared to recognise the off-duty Duchess and looked delighted.

The outing came shortly before it was announced the Duchess of Cambridge will be carrying out a solo trip to Denmark later this month.

Kate will travel to Copenhagen on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 February to promote her work with the The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

It has been a busy week for the Duchess, with two in-person royal engagements.

Yesterday she joined Prince Charles, 73, and the Duchess of Cornwall, 74, at The Prince’s Foundation training centre in south east London.

Prince Charles invited his daughter-in-law to the education hub owing to their shared love of the arts and passion for textiles.

Typically polished, Kate opted for a favourite belted grey Catherine Walker dress for the outing, which she wore with black tights and black suede pumps by Gianvito Rossi.

On Wednesday the Duchess visited Twickenham and took part in a rugby skills session in her new role as patron of England Rugby.

She takes over the position from her brother-in-law Prince Harry, who was stripped of all royal patronages and honorary military titles following Megxit.
