Katie Price’s £1.5m Mucky Mansion is sold just weeks after she was evicted by bailiffs for failing to keep up on her mortgage repayments amid her bankruptcy battle

Katie Price’s ‘Mucky Mansion’ has been sold just weeks after the former glamour model was evicted by bailiffs for failing to keep up on her mortgage payments.

The sprawling property was on the market for £1.5million having been left in a terrible state with the 10-acre grounds overgrown and the swimming pool water having turned green.

Cleaners were forced to remove piles of rubbish and abandoned cars before it could be listed for sale.

Estate agents HJ Burt &Son have confirmed they have received an offer for the nine-bedroom home.

Price failed to pay the mortgage on the home near Horsham, West Sussex, amid her ongoing bankruptcy problems.

She had paid £1.35million for the property from former Tory peer Francis Maude and it featured in a Channel Four series as she attempted to renovate the house.

Last week the 46-year-old was arrested at Heathrow Airport on her return from Turkey where she underwent her sixth facelift having skipped a court hearing into a repeated failure to pay £750,000 to the tax man.

Appearing before a judge at the Royal Court of Justice the following day she agreed to attend a public examination into her finances and hand over all documents concerning her earnings.

Price was warned by the judge not to go on holiday and told she faced arrest if she failed to attend the August 27th hearing either in person or by video link.

Bailiffs evicted Price from the 1930s built property in May with the cosmetically enhanced personality saying the home, which she bought in 2014, was cursed.

She has moved into a £5,000 a month rented home in the same West Sussex area with her five children.

Talking about Mucky Mansion she said: ‘I’ve had nothing but bad memories in that house’, and insisted moving will be the start of a new chapter in her life.

Talking about Mucky Mansion she said: ‘I’ve had nothing but bad memories in that house’, and insisted moving will be the start of a new chapter in her life.

Contract cleaners were brought in to clear away the piles of rubbish and spruce up the property before it was put on the market.

In its marketing, the estate agents described it as offering ‘the potential to become an ‘impressive family house’ for prospective buyers.

The advert did not mention the home’s former owner.

It says: ‘A substantial detached family home including three reception rooms, nine bedrooms and four bath/shower rooms spread over three floors plus a one-bedroom annexe.’

‘Offering the opportunity for refurbishment to potentially create an impressive family house with mature grounds including potential reinstatement of the tennis court and swimming pool and enhancements of the paddock and land.’

Price was declared bankrupt for a second time in March over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05 after first being declared bankrupt in 2019.

Katie’s Financial Woes

2019 – Katie was declared bankrupt with debts of £3.2m from her failed company Jordan Trading Ltd, that was set up to oversee her perfume and cosmetics line.

She set up the company in 2003 but in 2017 an application was put in to wind up the company as she tried to sort out her finances.

When she was declared bankrupt she vowed to pay back £12,000 a month to creditors of the firm through an individual voluntary arrangement.

The bankruptcy meant Katie, once worth a reported £45million, faced losing her £2million 11-bedroom mansion.

She took out a second mortgage on the property in 2015, but faced monthly payments of £12,300.

2022 – The former model had been due to attend the Royal Court of Justice to explain to a judge why she has failed to repay millions owed to creditors.

However, the hearing was adjourned at the last minute with her solicitors giving no reason for Katie’s no show before the court.

March 2024 – She was again declared bankrupt over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05. The demand for payment was made by HMRC in October 2023.

A court was told the bill ‘derives from self-assessments’ for 2020-2021 and 2021-22 and includes income VAT, tax, surcharges and interest.

Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Sebastian Prentis told the hearing at London’s Rolls Building: ‘There has been no response from the debtor. The papers are in order.

‘There is a substantial debt due from Ms Price to HMRC and therefore I will make a bankruptcy order.’

May 2024 – Katie is evicted from her home after being served with a notice and given weeks to leave. She is told bailiffs will arrive at 10am on 29 May to ensure she and any other occupants have vacated the property.
