Kelly Clarkson is blazing her own path through daytime television with the launch of her own eponymous series, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
DailyMailTV got a first-hand look at the fun and funky set – the vibe of which is an LA record studio meets a backyard barbecue in the country – and got the chance to sit down with Kelly.

The format sees the hitmaker bringing together a panel of celebrities and non-celebs who have compelling stories to discuss and engage together as a group.
‘I think non-celebrities are just as important as celebrities and so I wanted a show to represent that,’ the 37-year-old beauty explained.
She added: ‘I want an even playing field. Everyone’s invited here, everyone is represented, everybody’s included.’
To kick off each episode, a member of the audience gets to pick a song of their choice by any artist for Kelly to cover.

‘The audience is almost like a co-host,’ the songbird quipped.
‘It kind of feels how it feels on tour for me. You play off of them, you feed off of that energy.’
While the Grammy winner admitted she was a bit nervous in the beginning, she quickly found her footing and said that giving the audience their own personal Kelly Clarkson concert each show helped ground her.

‘It’s oddly comfortable,’ Kelly revealed. ‘I come in signing. So, that’s my wheelhouse.’
The series premiered on Monday September 9 with a major A-lister – who surprisingly wasn’t even the first choice.
Kevin Hart was slated to be Kelly’s inaugural guest but had to back out after he suffered injuries from a car accident at the beginning of the month.
First up! Clarkson’s first big guest was scheduled to be Kevin Hart but after a tragic car accident left him hospitalized, his pal The Rock stepped up in his place
His pal Dwanye ‘The Rock’ Johnson stepped up and took the actor’s place.
‘Dwayne Johnson saved the day with our first episode, actually,’ Kelly said gratefully.

This season: With a roster of A-listers already in the bank, Kelly revealed that her dream guest is Meryl Streep – who she famously fangirled over on the red carpet
One star she is aching to interview should come as no surprise – the legendary Meryl Streep.
‘I’ve probably scared her away from me but I’m okay with that,’ Kelly said of her dream guest.
‘I’m a huge fan of Meryl Streep so I would love have her on my show which is a total long shot but I’ve always been a kid who dreams big.’

Kelly famously went viral after her exchange with the Oscar winner on the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globes when she had a good-natured freak out over coming face to face with Streep.
‘It’s not my fault I was so caught off guard! I would’ve played it cool if I’d known it was going to happen,’ Kelly told DailyMailTV about the viral moment.
Jokingly she added: ‘I scared her full on.’

Considering the star power behind Clarkson’s new show, it’s not a stretch to imagine a talent like Meryl popping in for a chat.
Kelly said she’s looking forward to using her new platform ‘to be able to do so many cool things’ and hopefully bring people together in the current divisive climate.
