Krispy Kreme is giving away 100,000 Original Glazed doughnuts – and here’s how you can score extras

Krispy Kreme Australia is set to give away 100,000 free doughnuts to hungry customers – but you’ll have to be quick.

Foodies can head into a Krispy Kreme store on Friday, June 2, to claim a free doughnut in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, and Western Australia to celebrate National Doughnut Day – and there’s no catch.

Diners are encouraged to plan their day in advance, as Krispy Kreme revealed that more than 8,000 people rushed to their local Krispy Kreme to claim their free original glazed treat between 4pm and 5pm, which resulted in long queues.

‘National Doughnut Day is our most popular event of the year,’ said Aimee Cutajar, head of marketing at Krispy Kreme ANZ.

‘Our much-loved original glazed doughnuts are made fresh daily and all our retail staff are rolling up their sleeves in preparation for a busy day ahead.’

‘We love to share joy with our fans and thank them for their support. Nothing says National Doughnut Day like a free treat,’ Cutajar added.

But their special offer doesn’t end with doughnut day – Krispy Kreme is also offering eagled-eyed customers a free original glazed treat until 10 July if foodies spot the Hot Light being lit up at a participating store.

‘Whenever Krispy Kreme’s Hot Light is on, it means the fluffy doughnuts are rolling down the production line, glistening through the glaze waterfall, and going straight into your box fresh and warm,’ a spokesperson said. 

‘All Krispy Kreme doughnuts are made and delivered fresh daily, but life is not complete if you haven’t tried a warm doughnut straight off the production line.

‘It tastes like a delicious warm cloud, light in texture, and melts in your mouth.’
