Kyle Sandilands takes aim at the female cast of Love Island

He’s the lauded shock jock who has never been shy in voicing his opinions.

So it is no surprise that Kyle Sandilands had something to say about the premiere of Channel Nine’s controversial new series Love Island Australia.

The 46-year-old couldn’t wait to discuss the inaugural episode with his KIIS FM co-star Jackie O Henderson and newsreader Brooke Ross.

‘I’m so glad I’m not dating now’: Kyle Sandilands says he’s not impressed with the female cast of Channel Nine’s Love Island Australia and takes aim at the lacklustre crop of male suitors

Kyle didn’t pull any punches in his description of the show, saying he wasn’t impressed by the female contestants and was glad his girlfriend Imogen Anthony had taken him off the market.

‘I just thought i’m so glad I’m not dating now,’ he confessed.

‘Don’t get me wrong,’ he added. ‘I’m not going to not watch it, but I would hate to be a guy on there trying to find true love.’

Kyle then turned his critical eye to the guys, observing that while the girls might have been chasing inked up beefcakes, the males on offer were, by and large, quite unimpressive.

‘The thing I found funny was all the girls were like…: “I like a footballer, muscly, brown skin, brunette with neck tatts,” and all these little dwarves came out – like a little Hobbit.’

The premiere episode did not shy away from the ‘raunch’ and overt sexism, with the females made to wear bikinis and stilettos as they stood in line to be selected by their male co-stars.

Further, the male stars later got together to discuss who was the ‘hottest’ female contestant, before the show’s narrator stated: ‘Over by the pool, the boys engaged in the time-honoured gentleman’s tradition of rating girls.’

Explicit comments were also made by several of the stars, with one female competitor describing herself as a ‘sicko’ for wanting to listen to her co-stars have sex.

It appears that Kyle wasn’t alone in his criticism, with former Bachelorette Georgia Love labeling the show as ‘abhorrent’ on Twitter.
