After months of secrecy, Kylie Jenner shocked the world as she announced she had given birth to her first child, a daughter named Stormi Webster, in February 2018.
And while Kylie had kept the news hidden from fans for some time, the announcement did not come out of left field with many speculating she had been pregnant for months.
Multiple media outlets reported in September 2017 that Kylie was expecting her first child with her boyfriend of five months, however the KUWTK star would not go on to confirm the news until months later.

A source confirmed the news to DailyMail.com, adding that the young star was around four months pregnant at the time.
A source told People magazine that Kylie was overjoyed at her pregnancy: ‘It is an unexpected but completely amazing turn of events that she could not be more excited or thrilled about.’
Kylie started dating Travis not long after her split from rapper Tyga, whom she dated for several years.
As news broke of the pregnancy the rapper added his own thoughts to the mix – Snapchatting, then deleting, the comment: ‘hell nah that’s my kid!’

Over the next few months, Kylie managed to successfully hide her pregnancy.
She would not confirm her the baby news until days after she had given birth to her daughter.
When Kylie finally made her big reveal, she simultaneously confirmed her pregnancy while announcing she had given birth to a baby girl in an intimate YouTube video capturing her pregnancy entitled ‘To Our Daughter.’

In a lengthy statement posted to her Instagram, Kylie apologized to her fans for keeping the pregnancy a secret as she wanted to prepare for motherhood in ‘the most positive, stress free and healthy way’ possible.
‘I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions. I understand you’re used to me bringing you along all my journeys. my pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself i needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way i knew how. there was no gotcha moment, no big paid reveal i had planned.
‘I knew my baby would feel every stress and every emotion so I chose to do it this way for my little life and our happiness.

While Kylie did not reveal her child’s name at the time, she did later announce she had decided to name her daughter Stormi.
