Israel Tellez-Nava, 35, was detained on Thursday night by detectives with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department after a routine traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Kingman, Arizona
A Las Vegas man was detained in Arizona after authorities discovered more than $1.9million worth of methamphetamine in his car.
Israel Tellez-Nava, 35, was detained on Thursday night by detectives with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department after a routine traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Kingman, Arizona.
Tellez-Nava was charged with transportation of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of dangerous drugs for sale, the department said in a release.
Detectives with the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team found that Tellez-Nava was the sole occupant and driver of the vehicle.
Inside his vehicle, detectives found ‘bundles of methamphetamine in plain view.’
The suspect was arrested at the scene.
Detectives found three large boxes inside the vehicle, containing 43lbs of methamphetamine.
The street value of the drugs are estimated to be over $1.9million.
Tellez-Nava is currently booked at the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.
Jail records indicate that he is being detained for immigration deportation as well.
