Lea Michele puts on a leggy display in black shorts as she leaves for her Broadway performance of Funny Girl

Lea Michele cut a leggy figure as she left for her evening performance of Funny Girl in New York City on Tuesday.

The actress, 36, looked positively glowing as she walked to her car while preparing for her Broadway performance.

Dressed in all black, the former Glee star showed off her toned legs in tailored shorts, teamed with a T-shirt and oversized blazer.

Lea is currently playing Fanny Brice in the musical, which follows the character on her improbable rise to fame and her tumultuous relationship with gambler Nicky Arnstein.

She joined the cast in August 2022 and has received rave reviews from critics for the musical’s first Broadway revival in 58 years.

Lea was forced to miss a week of Funny Girl performances in May after she tested positive for COVID-19.

This marks the second time the virus has affected her shows after she missed several performances in September 2022, only a month into her taking over the role.

Many fans were disappointed when Funny Girl received only one Tony nomination in this year’s awards, but Lea stole the show as she delivered a show-stopping performance during the event at New York City’s United Palace Theatre.

The actress closed out the show by performing Don’t Rain on My Parade from the hit musical.

At the end of the number she received a spirited reaction from the crowd, with many giving her a standing ovation.

Lea was not eligible for a nomination this year because Beanie Feldstein, who originated the role, left the show in late July 2022.

Yet Lea was left unperturbed by the missed out nomination as she explained just having the privilege of playing the part is enough for her.

‘You might think that’s the biggest piece of bulls**t that I’m going to say to you all day,’ the actress told The New York Times.

‘But I really don’t care about that at this point. It’s just about being able to play this part.’

Lea’s stint in Funny Girl is due to end at the beginning of September and she is looking forward to spending more time with her little boy Ever, two.

The mother-of-one shares her son with businessman husband Zandy Reich, 40, who she tied the knot with in 2019 at an intimate ceremony in northern California.

The family have recently come through a hard time after her son was in and out of hospital due to an unknown health issue.

Despite the hospitalisations, Lea told People in April that he was on the road to recovery.

She said: ‘Ever’s doing good. We still have a little bit of a long road ahead of us here, but he’s doing well, thank God, and healthy.’
