Lily Allen’s ex-husband Sam Cooper has married his aristocratic designer partner India Windsor-Clive.
Builder and decorator Sam, 43 – who shares daughters Ethel, nine, and Marnie, eight, with Lily – appeared to wed his London-based fiancée in a beautiful outdoor service attended by their family and friends.
India, 33, shared plenty of images from her wedding to Instagram yesterday, with the bride looking resplendent in an off-the-shoulder princess gown, featuring a ruffled skirt and a ruched bodice.
The beaming bride, daughter of the Earl of Plymouth, is a descendant of the 18th Century’s Clive of India, who was a controversial military officer and an official of the East India Trading Company.
India and Sam, who apparently first got together a month after he had officially finalised his divorce with Lily, became engaged in January 2021, with the builder announcing the news on social media as he branded himself ‘an extraordinarily lucky man’.

Pictures from their wedding day, thought to have taken place over the weekend, showed the couple wearing matching grins as they held hands in front of their guests.
The couple could be seen standing by the side of an official with a microphone while in a woodland area.
India teamed her statement dress with a stylish bun, paired with a floral head piece while holding a bouquet of red, pink and orange flowers.
She finished her ensemble with glamorous drop emerald earrings, while her husband looked dashing in a blue suit and yellow tie.

In a reception outside, seemingly underneath a canopy, the newlyweds enjoyed a first dance, with confetti being thrown over them, before cutting their three-tiered, leaf-themed wedding cake.
Showcasing their loved-up status, the couple were also pictured enjoying a kiss together while sitting beside a bonfire.
Dubbed the ‘Queen of Notting Hill’ among well-heeled circles, India has made a name for herself as an art director, set dresser and creative consultant.

Over the years, her clients have included such brands as Samsung, Ted Baker, Adidas x SoccerBible, Sketch, JamJar Flowers, Fanta, and FACT TV.
The couple announced their engagement earlier this year in January, with Sam sharing a picture of himself and his partner sitting side-by-side.
He wrote: ‘She is beautiful, wonderful, magical in every way… and she said yes!!!! An extraordinarily lucky man I am. Wow.’
India also shared the news on her own Instagram account minutes later as she posted a variety of snapshots of the pair together, alongside the caption: ‘We’re getting married! Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with this special man.’

Meanwhile, Lily Allen celebrated her one year wedding anniversary with Stranger Things star David Harbour earlier this month, marking the day with a slew of throwback snaps on Instagram.
In February 2019, Lily revealed her ex-husband Sam had a new girlfriend, just a month after their divorce was officially finalised.
She halted her live Sydney concert to make the unexpected revelation that her former partner has a new woman in his life.
The F**k You hit-maker, who parted ways with Sam in 2016, told the crowd of during her show: ‘My ex-husband has a new girlfriend, It’s fine, It’s fine.’

She joked that her children had already met the mystery woman when they were staying with him on the weekends.
Later on stage, the songstress called herself a ‘d***head’ for revealing the information, and was also seen smoking in between songs.
In a June 2018 interview on Loose Women, the Smile songstress said she shares a ‘very friendly’ relationship with Sam, and the pair have an unconventional custody agreement, where they take their daughters for alternative weeks at a time.
‘Me and my ex-husband share custody, a week on and a week off, which is useful for my work, when he’s got them, I can do that,’ she added.

Lily previously admitted she cheated on Sam after struggles with fame led her to lose her identity.
In her tell-all book, My Thoughts Exactly, she exposed how a showdown with Sam almost resulted in her being sectioned.
After the breakdown of her five-year marriage to Sam in 2016, Lily had a furious row with her ex over his apparent reluctance to discuss his new romance.
In her memoir, the singer also confessed to hiring female sex workers on her international tour Sheezus in 2014 following the breakdown of their marriage.
Clive of India: Triumphant over Nawab of Bengal but dubbed ‘unstable sociopath’
To his supporters, Clive of India is the profiteer who secured British rule in the region for two centuries, but his detractors say he was an ‘unstable sociopath’.
Robert Clive was born on the Styche Hall estate, near Market Drayton, in 1725. He went to school in London before travelling to India with the East India Company in 1743.
The Shropshire-born clerk rose to the top of the East India Company despite having no military training.
He underwent a series of strategic victories over the Siraj-ud-Daulah, the last independent Nawab of Bengal. His biggest victory came in 1957 at The Battle of Plassey.

Facing 50,000 men, Clive’s 3,000-strong private army was woefully outnumbered, but through tactics and by bribing the Nawab’s cavalry commander, he routed the Bengalis, leading directly to British dominance across India.
Corruption and looting saw Clive amass a huge amount of wealth and he returned to Britain in 1760, aged 34.
He was made Baron Clive of Passey, knighted and became Shrewsbury’s MP, a position he held until his death.
He went back to India in 1765 for two years before returning to Britain where the activities of Clive and the East India Company in India came under sustained attack.
The famine of Bengal that lasted between 1769 and 1773 and killed around a third of the region’s population was said to have largely been caused by the company’s policies.
Clive defended himself in Parliament, saying ‘I stand astonished at my own moderation,’ and in 1773 Parliament declared that he did ‘render great and meritorious services to his country.’
Clive was never accepted by aristocratic circles and was eventually brought up on corruption charges.
Despite seeing these off, he is believed to have taken his own life at home in London in 1774, aged 49, and was buried in an unmarked grave.
