Lindsey Vonn gives fiance P.K. Subban an engagement ring for Christmas

Four months after NHL star P.K. Subban popped the question to Lindsey Vonn, the skiier returned the favor with an engagement ring for her hubby-to-be.

Vonn, 34, widely considered one of the best skiers of all time, and Subban, 34, who plays for the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, have been engaged since August, but Vonn waited to surprise her fiance with his own ring until Christmas Day.

The Olympian also shared a photo of the happy couple, along with their three dogs, in front of the Christmas tree.

‘Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!! On our 2 year anniversary I returned the favor and asked PK to marry me… and he said yes,’ Vonn began.

‘We talk about equality but actions speak louder than words. Men should get engagement rings too and this is what PK deserves,’ she added.

‘Can’t wait to marry you babe,’ she concluded, with a heart emoji and the hashtags #merrychristmas #happyanniversary #equality #raisethebar.

Subban also took to his Instagram story to share a close-up shot of the ring, with the simple caption, ‘Drip drip’ with a tear drop emoji.

The couple detailed their engagement in Vogue back in August, where it was revealed that they met at the ESPYs two years ago.

Subban said that he ‘really wanted to talk to Lindsey,’ but at the time, ‘she was dating someone else so I couldn’t really speak to her.’

Then on Christmas Day in 2017, after seeing his family, ‘I hopped on a plane to Denver, and then drove three hours to get to Vail in a snowstorm to see her.’

Vonn had already been married to fellow skier Thomas Vonn from 2007 to 2011, admitting she was hesitant, but right away, she knew he was ‘different.’

‘After a few months of dating, I knew he was the one I wanted to be with, though. He makes me happy, and he’s so positive and energetic,’ Vonn said.

Subban added, ‘Going there on Christmas Day, and leaving my family to do that, really proved to myself that I really liked her.’

‘I knew that I was all in. I didn’t know I would get married or engaged, but I knew that she had the potential to be the person whom I could spend the rest of my life with,’ he added.
