Leah Williamson is back in the England squad for next month’s Euro 2025 qualifiers after having to withdraw from the last international camp following her return from an ACL injury.

The Lionesses captain made her return to action in January and was called up by Sarina Wiegman for friendlies against Austria and Italy last month.

But Williamson was forced to withdraw from that squad after picking up a hamstring injury.

The defender will have the chance to make her long awaited comeback for England in Euro 2025 qualifiers against Sweden and the Republic of Ireland.

Millie Bright, who captained the Lionesses at the World Cup in Williamson’s absence, remains sidelined with a knee injury.

Manchester United defender Maya Le Tissier is the only player to drop out of the squad from the last England camp.

‘There’s no time to waste,’ Wiegman said. ‘February’s window showed who we are and where we want to go and we’ll look to continue that momentum from the minute we arrive at St. George’s Park next week.

‘We know it’s a challenging group, but it’s really exciting. These are all big games that will test us and that’s the kind of fixtures we want to play in.

‘Every opponent we face is a top nation and we know we have to perform at our best to achieve our goals. We’ll be ready for Sweden at Wembley.’

The Lionesses will play Sweden and Wembley on April 5 and then travel to Dublin to take on the Republic of Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on April 9.
