Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson posts photo of six Premier League Brazilians flying back to the UK

Let’s go home! Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson posts photo of six Premier League Brazilians flying back to the UK, with Man City duo Ederson and Gabriel Jesus joining Fabinho, Fred and Raphinha on private jet

Alisson posted a photo of six of Brazil’s Premier League contingent aboard a private jet back to the UK following their goalless draw against rivals Argentina on Tuesday night.

Brazil, who had already qualified for next year’s World Cup, played out a 0-0 deadlock in San Juan but with the Premier League restarting again this Saturday, clubs are keen to get their star players back in the UK.

As a result, a private jet was laid on for Liverpool duo Alisson and Fabinho, Man City’s Ederson and Gabriel Jesus, Manchester United midfielder Fred and Leeds winger Raphinha, with the Reds keeper who was holding a small glass of red wine captioning the photo on Instagram: ‘Let’s go home.’

Three other Premier League stars in the Brazil squad – Chelsea’s Thiago Silva, Tottenham’s Emerson Royal and Arsenal’s Gabriel – were not in the photo and seemingly not on the same plane.

The private jet comes after Alisson missed Liverpool’s first league game after the October international break, due to a 36-hour difference between a World Cup qualifier and Liverpool’s clash with Watford.

The Brazilians have also had to face Covid-19 issues with their matches in South America, with September’s international break overshadowed with issues over quarantine exemptions for foreign stars.

But the South American contingent now don’t need to worry about the long-haul travel until the next international break scheduled for March.

Silva is set to be the first Premier League Brazilian returning to club action, for Chelsea against Leicester on Saturday lunchtime, while Fred, Alisson, Fabinho and Gabriel will also feature on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Liverpool No 1 Alisson kept a clean sheet in both the Argentina clash and the 1-0 win against Colombia last week, when afterwards he had a dig at referee Craig Pawson afterwards.

The Reds lost 3-2 at the London Stadium on November 7, with the opener a hotly contested own goal from the Brazilian stopper after Angelo Ogbonna’s aerial challenge with him.

And Alisson took to social media to continue to vent his frustration, posting a picture of himself catching the ball on international duty

His Instagram story, to his seven million followers, had the sarcastic caption: ‘When you can use your hands, the job it’s not so hard,’ followed by a thumbs-up and a thinking emoji.
