Luton Town are exploring a move for Arsenal defender Rob Holding, who also has interest from Real Mallorca and Sevilla.

However, Luton’s move for Newcastle midfielder Isaac Hayden has stalled.

Holding has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal and hasn’t been included in the matchday squad for any of the club’s three Premier League games so far this season.

He has a year remaining on his current contract, although Arsenal have the option to extend it by a further year.

Last season Holding made just 14 Premier League appearances, with only six of those being starts.

Since joining from Bolton Wanderers in 2016, Holding has played 162 times for the Gunners.

Arsenal rejected a £2million offer from Besiktas for Holding last month.

The defender is expected to leave the club before the transfer deadline.

Hayden’s move to Luton has stalled, despite the midfielder undergoing a medical on Monday.

Hayden has three years left on his contract with Newcastle, but is training with the Under-21s after being deemed surplus to requirements by Eddie Howe.

The 28-year-old has not played a game for the Magpies since the 2021-22 season – spending last campaign on loan at Championship side Norwich City.
