Redding Fire officials said an auto glass repairman was trying to fix a rock-chipped windshield on the Fusion when he accidentally set it on fire.

The worker, who needed a little heat to finish his repairs, used a barbecue lighter and metal to deflect the heat, fire crews told Redding.com.

But instead of deflection the heat, the car’s dashboard quickly caught fire.

The car was engulfed in flames in no time and quickly spread to the Subaru parked next to it.
