Poppy Jennings and Luke Eglin’s abrupt exit from Married At First Sight on Monday was not mentioned by any other cast members at Wednesday’s dinner party.

Viewers were confused by the fact nobody thought to ask where they were, despite their departure being surrounded by controversy and wild accusations.

But Daily Mail Australia can reveal the other couples had already been told the news off camera, and were asked by producers ‘not to talk about it’ during filming.

‘Everybody found out pretty much immediately after Poppy and Luke had left. All the couples lived in the same building and were in constant contact,’ a source said.

‘There was a lot of confusion, with many aware Poppy had made some accusations. Producers told them she’d left to be with her family, and that was it.

‘They were told not to talk about it and then just continued with the show.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.

After her final scenes aired on Monday, Poppy claimed that an incident had occurred with Luke during filming in September but she ‘wasn’t allowed to talk about it’.

In a lengthy Facebook post, which has since been deleted, the 38-year-old mother-of-two wrote: ‘Why is Luke crying when I left? What really happened that he was crying over! You don’t know because I wasn’t allowed to say! It’s too controversial!

‘He’s scared s**tless I will tell the truth. I was afraid to speak up! But f**k this s**t, I’m going to tell everything! It’s not what you see, it’s what you don’t see! Go and ask Luke why I was so uncomfortable? Why the f**k did I really leave?

‘He’s petrified I’m going to talk. He knows he’s f**ked up.’

Luke, 39, has since responded to Poppy’s extraordinary claims about their break-up, saying he wishes her well and won’t be taking part in a public slanging match.

He told The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday: ‘I am not going to make any comments because, honestly, the best way to react is not to react.

‘To be honest, Poppy is a good person and the best of luck to her. I am not going to comment on anything because it is not worth it, it really isn’t.

‘Honestly, she just needs to move on like I have and that is it. We are finished on the show and that is as far as it goes.’
