Mattress Mack goes again! Notorious Houston gambler puts $1.9MILLION bet on Astros World Series

Well-known Texas furniture mogul and noted gambler Jim McIngvale, better known as ‘Mattress Mack,’ has once again hit the headlines for placing a massive bet on the Houston Astros.

Mack has wagered a smooth $1.9million on the Astros to once again win the World Series this year, and will scoop him a payout of $11.4 million if the team is successful.

Last season, Mack won a record-setting $75million after successfully betting $10million on the Astros to win the World Series. 

He had initially bet $3million before the season when Houston had +1,000 odds to win the trophy, and he then kept increasing his bet during the season.

This year the Astros currently have +600 odds to win the World Series.

Mack had to wheel his world-record winnings around to transport them onto his private plane

Although he hit on the Astros last season, Mack has not had great luck with his recent huge bets. 

Mack lost $2 million betting on the Dallas Cowboys to defeat the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.

He also lost over a million dollars betting on the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs to defeat the Georgia Bulldogs in the NCAA College Football National Championship.

To round it off Mack placed a losing bet on the University of Houston to win the men’s NCAA tournament.

The Astros’ biggest signing of the offseason came in the form of three-time All-Star first baseman Jose Abreu, who signed a three-year deal after playing with the Chicago White Sox.

Houston also re-signed five-time All-Star outfielder Michael Brantley and relief pitcher Rafael Montero.

The team has also seen the massive departure of reigning Cy Young award winner Justin Verlander, who signed with the New York Mets in free agency.

The Astros currently have +600 odds to once again be crowned World Series champions
