Maura Higgins and Olivia Attwood ‘approached to appear on Channel 4’s Love Island exposé docuseries revealing show secrets and what happens to stars when work dries up’

Maura Higgins and Olivia Attwood are allegedly on a ‘wish list’ to appear on a new exposé docuseries about the life of Love Island contestants after the show ends.

The project will reportedly be called Reality Check: Life After The Limelight, featuring exclusive interviews with contestants from the ITV dating programme.

As two of the more successful stars to come out of the villa, Maura, 31, is tipped to present the ITV2 reboot of Big Brother while Olivia, also 31, fronts her own series, Getting Filthy Rich, for the channel.

A PR insider told The Sun: ‘Channel 4 approached our agency looking to sign up people who went back to their normal jobs after the show but also the names that became rich and famous. Maura Higgins has been asked and Olivia Attwood too.

‘I was surprised to hear those two names as they both still work really closely with ITV, but I suppose if Channel 4 is including success stories, then you don’t get much better than them.’

The documentary is scheduled for release before the Winter Love Island series commences, according to claims, which last took place in January 2020.

Ex-Islanders will allegedly be asked questions about the instant fame that comes with being on the show, and what happens behind-the-scenes.

They will also delve into what it’s like when faced with going back to normal life when the work dries up.

Capital Xtra DJ Will Njobvu, who has previously appeared on the Aftersun spin-off and regularly interviews Love Island stars on his Reality podcast, is tipped to host the series.

The insider added: ‘They said Will was most likely to be host, which makes total sense as he’s someone most of the Islanders know and trust already.’

ITV has been under pressure for putting ratings before the welfare of its contestants following the suicides of former cast members Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis. Host Caroline Flack also took her own life in February 2020.

Representatives for Maura, Olivia, Will and Channel 4 have been contacted for comment by MailOnline.
