Meghan Markle is BRUTALLY mocked by Aussie comedians on Have You Been Paying Attention?

Meghan Markle may have some cheerleaders in the Australian media, namely the pro-Sussex Today Extra presenter David Campbell.

But the American-born Duchess didn’t have many supporters on comedy show Have You Been Paying Attention? on Monday night.

She was brutally mocked by comedians Sam Pang and Tim McDonald, after quizmaster Tom Gleisner asked the panel to name the first TV show Meghan appeared on following her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Have You Been Paying Attention? is the most popular panel show Down Under, and is considered Australia’s answer to Britain’s Mock the Week.

Tim was first to ring his buzzer, answering: ‘Was it… Better Home-Wreckers and Gardens?’

This was in reference to the Aussie show Better Homes and Gardens.

The panel burst into fits of laughter, as host Tom replied in mock disdain: ‘That is… very unkind. She cops a lot on this show!’

Sam was next to ring his buzzer, giving the tongue-in-cheek answer: ‘Family Feud.’

The comedians erupted in laughter once again, before Tom explained that Meghan had actually appeared on a fundraiser program called Vax Live.

Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, co-chaired the charity concert, which raised an impressive $382million in donations.

It comes after Nine’s Today show host Karl Stefanovic offered an unsympathetic verdict on Prince Harry’s recent interview with the Armchair Expert podcast, during which he accused his father, Prince Charles, of subjecting him to ‘genetic pain’.

‘Give it a rest, bro’: Today show host Karl Stefanovic (pictured) scolded the Duke of Sussex for ‘whining’ about his life of privilege on Friday

On Friday’s episode of Today, Stefanovic blasted Harry for ‘whining about his childhood’ despite growing up in a palace – and then sensationally claimed the prince ‘looked happier’ during his partying years before he met wife Meghan.

‘I’m just saying it’s ridiculous how he keeps whining about his childhood. He grew up in privilege – in a palace,’ he said. ‘I mean, just give it a rest, bro.’

As the Today show aired a gallery of photos from Harry’s twenties – when he was known for his partying and rebellious nature, in contrast to his strait-laced older brother, Prince William – Stefanovic couldn’t resist taking another swipe.

‘He looks happier, too, when he was partying in Vegas, I’m just saying,’ he remarked, implying the prince has lost some of his joie de vivre since marrying actress Meghan.

Later in the program, Stefanovic criticised Prince Harry again, telling him he should follow his grandmother the Queen’s example by ‘just getting on with it’.

‘The guy doesn’t need to go from his [Californian] mansion and start rabbiting on about how hard life is when he has got enormous privilege, and to keep bagging his family,’ he said.

‘Just get on with it. Just get on with it. Take a lesson out of the Queen’s book and just get on with it. Carry on.

‘I’m not saying anything more about that… it’s really riled me.’

At a glance: What did Harry say in the podcast?

  • Harry compared living under scrutiny as a member of the Royal Family to the film The Truman Show, starring Jim Carrey as a man oblivious to the fact that his entire life is a TV show, and to being an animal in a zoo.
  • Speaking about Prince Charles, Harry said: ‘If I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I’m going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on, basically.
  • The Duke said he met up with his future wife Meghan in a supermarket in the early days of their relationship and they pretended not to know each other.
  • Harry told how he quit as a senior royal with Meghan last year to put his family and mental health ‘first’.
  • The 36-year-old royal put ‘wild partying’ in his youth down to ‘childhood trauma’ – and started therapy after Meghan ‘saw he was angry’
  • The Duke said he was born into extraordinary privilege but hinted that he believes this has changed since he quit with Meghan
  • Harry revealed Meghan told him of her experience of royal life: ‘You don’t need to be a princess, you can create the life that will be better than any princess.’

Just hours later, pro-Sussex Today Extra host David Campbell proudly declared he was proudly ‘pro-Harry’ because the Duke’s recent public statements had sparked a discussion about mental health on a global scale.

He even said Prince Harry was the only member of the Royal Family he liked.

His began his defence of the Sussexes by hitting back at the suggestion Harry isn’t allowed to speak about his unhappiness because of his privileged upbringing.

‘He can’t choose this! He’s not going to go live in a block of flats in Eastgardens,’ he said.

As the conversation shifted to Harry’s rift with his father, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William, Campbell said it’s ‘not on him’ to repair those relationships – suggesting the Royal Family should be apologising and trying to make amends.

As he wrapped up the segment later on, Campbell gushed: ‘I think Harry’s a good thing. I don’t know about the other royals. Harry’s amazing.’

He couldn’t even bring himself to say the name of the Duke’s most vocal critic, former Good Morning Britain host and DailyMail.com columnist Piers Morgan.

‘Were we ever not pro-Harry?’ asked his co-host Belinda Russell.

‘No there’s people out there like Piers…’ Campbell said, before stopping himself and shaking his head in disapproval.

‘There are people out there,’ he added.

Campbell is known for his progressive politics, which are often at odds with the views expressed elsewhere on the Nine Network.

He made headlines last week for declaring his gender pronouns as ‘he/him’ after Instagram introduced a feature allowing users to declare their preferred pronouns.
