Meghan Markle was ‘furious’ at ‘absurd claims’ against her from her own family including ‘problem’ sister Samantha, Finding Freedom biography claims

  • Book says how sister Samantha tried to claim the pair were closer than they were
  • Prince Harry couldn’t believe how ‘badly’ her relatives behaved in interviews
  • Meghan left ‘angry’ by brother Thomas’ letter written to her future husband

Meghan Markle was ‘furious’ with members of her family after ‘absurd claims’ were made against her as her relationship with Prince Harry heated up, the couple’s new bombshell biography claims.

The Duke of Sussex couldn’t believe how ‘badly’ his new partner’s relatives had behaved after giving a series of interviews accusing her of turning her back on her ‘problem’ half-sister Samantha and father Thomas.

Meghan and her ‘estranged’ sibling had not seen each other in more than a decade, the authors of Finding Freedom say, and had only bumped into each other twice since they were children.

A 'confidant' accuses Meghan's half-sister Samantha of trying to pretend the pair were much closer than they were and enjoyed a 'Kate and Pippa' dynamic

A ‘confidant’ accuses Meghan’s half-sister Samantha of trying to pretend the pair were much closer than they were and enjoyed a ‘Kate and Pippa’ dynamic

In the book, a ‘confidant’ accuses Samantha of trying to pretend the pair were in fact much closer and enjoyed a ‘Kate and Pippa’ dynamic.

However, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand were told: ‘That’s not the case. Meg didn’t grow up with Samantha. She barely saw her’.

Similarly, tensions are said to have boiled over when her brother, Thomas Markle Jr wrote an open letter to Harry claiming the couple were not a good fit, while accusing the actress of leaving their father ‘forgotten, alone and bankrupt’.

Meghan and her closest friends were left extremely ‘angry’ by the comments, the book says.

When Samantha tried to deliver a letter to Kensington Palace demanding a face-to-face meeting, it was in fact dropped off at the wrong security gate, in an experience which left Meghan ‘weirded out’.

Her siblings’ complaints about not being invited to the wedding also annoyed her, the book says, with claims made that they were absent from her first wedding, likely didn’t even know she was married and didn’t care.

A source said: ‘It’s such a joke. Of course they care now that she’s marrying a prince.’

The book also claims that Meghan asked her father ‘more than once’ to nip Samantha’s vicious interviews in the bud, to which she apparently replied: ‘All Meghan needs to do is contact me herself to put an end to it.’
