Megyn Kelly beamed as she attended the intimate wedding of Fox contributor Guy Benson and Adam Wise on Saturday, proud that she inadvertently brought the couple together.
The former Fox anchor featured Benson on her old Fox show The Kelly File back in 2015 where the 34-year-old came out as gay on live television.
Benson called the TV confession the ‘most terrifying television appearance of my life.’ But it was his gutsy on-air statement that led Wise to reach out to him.
Before long Benson and Wise, a 24-year-old consultant for the federal government, fell in love and got engaged in 2018.
The two tied in the knot in a romantic ceremony at the Charles Krug Winery in Napa Valley, California on Saturday before 150 close guests including Kelly, who brought them together in the first place.

Kelly, who has been lying low since she was ousted from NBC last October, was seen hugging guests at the California wedding with her husband at her side
‘We don’t socialize all the time with Megyn; we’ll occasionally exchange notes, but just given what she did with us, with me, for me four years ago, there was no way that I was not going to invite her to this culmination of that journey that in some ways began on her show,’ Benson said to People Magazine on inviting the 48-year-old journalist.
Benson, who hosts Fox News Radio’s The Guy Benson Show, appeared on Kelly’s show back in 2015 to promote his new book End of Discussion. In addition to promoting his book, he came out as gay.
‘In the book, in a footnote, I came out as gay because there was a whole chapter about gay rights and the religious liberties, and I felt like it was important for me to disclose to the audience just ethically, yes, from a journalism perspective,’ Benson said.
Wise was watching the segment with his parents in Colorado and decided to e-mail Benson to say he inspired him.
‘I wanted help reconciling being a conservative and being gay. I’d come out, I’d been out for a while,’ Wise said.
The couple then met in person and started dating after bonding over binge-watching Netflix’s Making a Murderer together.
‘There was a reason that I approached Megyn in the first place about doing this very sensitive interview at that vulnerable moment in my life, because I trusted her and I knew that she would be a total class act and a total professional about it, and she of course delivered. And just, you don’t really ever forget someone doing something like that for you, ever,’ Benson said on his special relationship with Kelly.
Kelly, who has been lying low since she was ousted from NBC last October, issued a rare public statement in June to wish the couple her best ahead of their wedding.
‘Guy had the challenge of coming out publicly with grace and dignity, and I was honored to be any small part of it,’ she said.
‘I’m thrilled about his upcoming nuptials and wish him and Adam incredible happiness,’ she added.

Speaking on the start of their relationship Benson said their relationship sparked immediately.
‘It became clear pretty early on that it just, that things clicked,’ Benson said.
‘We’re both organized and driven human beings. We just work well together. We’re best friends. He’s my home,’ Wise said.
Some of the star guests invited to the lavish wedding included Fox Business Network contributor Lisa Kennedy, and conservative TV talking heads Katie Pavlich and Hugh Hewitt.
Benson and Wise said ‘I do’ wearing matching gray J. Crew suits and ties that paid homage to their respective alma maters. Benson wore lavender for Northwestern and Wise wore sage green for Colorado State.

Following the ceremony guests enjoyed a three-course meal that included a tomato, feta, and bacon salad, bavette steak with a potato puree, and a sweet and savory cheese course.
Instead of a wedding cake for dessert, guests picked from a dessert station with four or five different sweets.

‘It’s great to have someone that you’ve found in your life that compliments you really well. And our hope is that for many, many years, we will find both of our lives easier with two,’ the couple said on their special day.
Kelly left the Fox network in 2017 to join NBC on the Today Show abruptly left in 2018, exiting with a $30million settlement with the peacock network.
