Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy goes tenth overall to the Vikings in 2024 NFL Draft

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy has been selected No. 10 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

McCarthy, 21, led the Wolverines to a national championship last season under now-Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh.

He tossed 2,991 yards and 22 touchdowns against just four interceptions during his junior season.

The Vikings traded up from No. 11 overall to swipe the pick from the Jets and get their newest quarterback. 

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Vikings traded No. 11 ,a fourth-round pick and a fifth-round pick to New York for No. 10 and pick No. 203.

For Minnesota, the pick represents a new era at quarterback.

The Vikings were manned by Kirk Cousins for six seasons before he signed with the Falcons this offseason.
