Moment good Samaritans save man passed out on train tracks

Just days shy of Christmas, early morning commuters were deemed the heroes to an unconscious individual who was lying face-down on train tracks.

A weeping woman who first saw the man, Liliana Vicente, captured the daunting moment on cellphone video Thursday at the Avenue H station in Brooklyn, New York.

The hysterical Vicente can be heard shouting out, ‘Sir?! Sir, please wake up!’ from the other side of the gate.

She continues to scream in furious attempts to wake the man as other commuters come by to help.

Other commuters then come by to help, and attempt to stop the oncoming train

Vicente then cries out and she looks over at the fast-approaching Q train, ‘No, please stop!’

The group of good Samaritans were doing the most to try and pause the oncoming Manhattan-bound train.

Then, Vicente, runs to press the emergency call button nearby, which stopped the train.

‘My God,’ Vicente said. ‘Thank God the train has stopped.’

Shortly after, the group was able to climb down the service ladder to reach the man and pull him to safety onto the platform.

‘A lady grabbed the guy from the left, and a guy, the guy from the right and me from the bottom,’ Vicente shared with NBC New York.

‘If this happens to me, I wish someone would help me too, you know?’ she added.

‘I was worried that the train was coming over him. It was right there … I was going to see that horrible (event) where maybe (something worse could have happened).’

The man, said to be in his 50’s, became conscious and was transported to the hospital.

It is unclear how the man ended up on the tracks.
