A Queensland farmer has filmed a ‘monster’ 320 kilogram crocodile swimming away with a dead cow in its jaws.

Cattleman Luke Quartermaine was flying a helicopter over his Watson River Station property in Cape York on Thursday when he spotted the beast.

‘There was this croc swimming away with a cow in its mouth,’ Mr Quartermaine.

A Queensland farmer has filmed a ‘monster’ crocodile swimming away with a cow in its jaws.

He said the croc was a ‘bloody’ monster compared to the helpless cow.

‘The cow would have been around 320 kilogram, and he had no dramas holding her out of the water and dragging her along,’ he said.

The predator was later accompanied by a smaller crocodile, who appeared to be waiting for the larger animal to finish eating.

The Cape York Peninsula is renowned for its large crocodiles.

There have been reports of a 9.1 metre croc- believed to be the biggest in the world- lurking in nearby waters.

Mr Quartermaine said the population in the area has reached plague proportions.

‘The crocs are just pests- it’s beyond the joke now,’ he said.
