It was recently announced that the Game of Thrones prequel she had already filmed a pilot for will not be commissioned for a full series.
But it appears Naomi Watts is taking the decision in her stride, as she appeared in high spirits while strolling through New York on Thursday with her 10-year-old son, Samuel Kai Schreiber.
The 51-year-old actress held hands with Samuel, who goes by his middle name, Kai.

Naomi cut a stylish figure for the outing, wearing an oversized black blazer layered over a grey jumper.
The mother-of-two – who shares custody of Kai and her eldest son, Sasha, 12, with her ex-partner, Liev Schreiber – completed her off-duty look with bootleg jeans and a pair of brown ankle boots.
Kai, meanwhile, sported a stylish salmon sweater and light denim jeans.

The fashion-forward youngster teamed his look with a pair of box-fresh white sneakers.
After dropping Kai off, Naomi was later seen carrying her pet dog in her arms, before placing him on the ground to walk beside her.
Naomi’s sighting comes after THR reported on Tuesday that HBO will not advance the Game of Thrones prequel, despite a pilot having already been filmed.

The cast reportedly learned of the news from writer Jane Goldman via email.
The series was intended to focus on the Age of Heroes and the first battle between man and the White Walker.
Instead, it seems like HBO will produce another pilot set in the Game of Thrones world, only this time in partnership with author George R.R. Martin and screenwriter Ryan J. Condal.
