Washington Nationals outfielder Stone Garrett was carted off in the seventh inning his team’s game against the New York Yankees Wednesday night.

Garrett went down to the ground in clear agony after attempting to make a play at the right outfield wall, suffering an apparent ankle injury.

He was attempting to rob DJ LeMahieu of a home run, which gave the Yankees a 7-0 lead, and seemingly got his leg caught against the outfield wall.

As LeMahieu rounded the bases, Garrett collapsed and appeared to be in a significant amount of pain as he was tended to.

Garrett was prone on his back for six minutes as athletic trainers from both teams attached an air cast and Washington teammates gathered.

He was eventually removed from the game and exited the field at Yankees Stadium on the back of a cart.

Garrett, whose leg was strapped up into a brace, was visibly upset as he sat on the cart in tears, before covering his face with a towel.

After Garrett’s exit, LeMahieu’s home run was swiftly followed by another home run from Yankees captain Aaron Judge.

Judge produced his first three-homer game as the Yankees won for the first time since August 11.

In the first, Judge capped an eight-pitch at-bat by hitting a 2-2 curveball from MacKenzie Gore (6-10) over the wall in center field. Judge’s 431-foot blast marked New York’s first lead in 61 innings. It had last led in the second inning of its 11-3 loss to Atlanta on Aug. 14.

Judge gave the Yankees a 6-0 lead in the second when he his fifth career grand slam.

In the seventh while facing Jose A. Ferrer, Judge hit another solo shot to become the 25th player in team history to record three homers in a game.
