A teenage girl was rushed to hospital after she was hit in the head by a brick when gatecrashers started attacking her birthday party.
The 18-year-old suffered a head injury after gatecrashers threw a house brick into the backyard of a home in Charlestown near Newcastle on Saturday night.
As they left, bottles, sticks and a house brick were thrown into the backyard, striking the girl in the head.

The girl was taken to the John Hunter Hospital and has received stitches on her head.
Police from the Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were called to the Roslyn Street residence shortly before 8pm to diffuse the situation.
This was right after a group of uninvited people had tried to gain entry into the house.
At this stage, police investigators are still in the midst of identifying those responsible for the attack.
