One of Nick Cannon’s six baby mamas – who is currently pregnant with the star’s tenth child – has spoken out to defend their polyamorous relationship, despite admitting that the TV host is ‘not perfect’.
In an interview released on the same day that Cannon, 41, revealed he had welcomed his ninth child by a sixth woman, Abby De La Rosa, 31, took part in an interview about her unique relationship dynamic with the star.
Abby, who already shares two children with Cannon, and is expecting their third, admitted that she has received a huge amount of hate and criticism over the polyamorous romance, while also revealing that she considers the TV host as her ‘primary partner’.
Abby, who welcomed twins Zion and Zillion, 15 months, with Cannon in June 2021, also touched on the judgement she has faced while being involved in a ‘polyamorous relationship’ with Cannon.
She sat down with Lovers and Friends podcast host Shan Boodram and explained the impact that being a part of Cannon’s ever-growing family has had on her.

The mom, who is expecting her third child this fall with the TV personality, said her and Cannon were in an ‘open relationship’ and added that he is her ‘primary partner.’
She said: ‘Being in a polyamorous relationship doesn’t mean you have low self-esteem or self-worth.’
The pregnant former radio personality described Cannon as her ‘primary partner’ but admitted she could see his faults, especially when it comes to his ‘ample amount of kids.’
‘Now don’t get me wrong, we’re all human. Nick is not perfect,’ she continued.
‘There’s been times he’s been a little hesitant about being completely honest, and I think that’s something everyone wants,’ she told the podcast host.
She added that she has ‘trust’ in her ‘connection with Nick.’
And even she revealed she has chosen to be monogamous with Cannon, despite knowing that he is involved with other women and hopes that in the future she can have a fully monogamous relationship.
She said: ‘I think I see monogamy for myself down the line, and this won’t get me there. But I love where I’m at, at this very moment. It’s just not my forever.’
The soon to be mom-of-three then opened up about the judgement she has received as a result of her relationship with Cannon.
Abby said: ‘I’ve never been hit with thousands of people just telling me their hate for me. His track record of relationships at the time had been maybe more intensified,’ she recalled.

‘He had a lover over here that, they were going strong and they had been involved for years. Then he had another beautiful family over here that he has.
‘And then he has his ex-wife, who’s the queen of all queens,’ she said referring to Mariah Carey. ‘People feel so invested.’
She explained that her relationship with the TV host has caused people to attack her as a mother.
‘I become hypersensitive when people attack me and my motherhood. When it comes to being a mom, I don’t think I’ve even scratched the surface.
‘Me being open in my relationship does not change or take away from the type of mother that I am to my kids and the wholeness that I am to them and the strength that I share with them,’ she said.
Despite the criticism, Abby explained she was ‘excited’ for her children to grow up and ‘do it their own way,’ just like her and Cannon did.
Cannon and Abby kept their relationship a secret until they announced that they were expecting twin boys together in April 2021.
‘Our dearest sons – my miracle babies, thank you for choosing me to be your mommy,’ Abby wrote on Instagram at the time, in a now-deleted post. ‘I know the Lord has destined me and prepared me for the gift of not one but two little angels.
‘I pray that God gives you both the strength to walk brave and boldly in your individual truth just like your daddy… That God bless you and your brother and guide you into living out your full purpose. Your dad and I will always be here for you both; in complete unison and support.

‘First pregnancy, April 2020, was definitely not planned, but Nick was such a great friend to me and just so good to me, and then our focus became to have a baby,’ she explained. ‘Little did we know we would end up having twins.
‘Let me just add that this planning wasn’t like us sitting down with a calendar and being like, ‘You gotta be pregnant by this date.’ It had already been a thought and it happened. It had already been out there, it was something we were manifesting and we were just letting it flow.’

Now, they are preparing to welcome their third child together, whose gender is unknown.
Abby revealed that she was expecting back in June, and while she did not disclose who the father was at the time, TMZ reported days later that Nick was the dad; the baby is reportedly due on October 25.
‘I’m pregnant,’ Abby wrote on Instagram on June 3, alongside a snap that showed her posing on a bed in front of white balloons that spelled the word, ‘Baby.’
