Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards: Charli D’Amelio dons pink and black minidress at show in LA

Social media darling Charli D’Amelio teamed up with former NFL player Nate Burleson to serve as co-hosts of the 36th annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

During the ceremony, produced by Nickelodeon and held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the show honors the year’s biggest in television, film, music, and sports as voted by viewers worldwide of Nickelodeon networks. 

Ahead of the main event, the TikTok star, 18, stepped out for a round of red carpet photos in a pink and black minidress that hugged her incredible figure.

Her feminine frock featured a corset bodice and bell-shaped lower portion that draped over her hips with a section of pink trim that hung down more than a foot. 

The teenager completed her look with a pair of black platform, open-toe heels.

 D’Amelio, who opted for minimal accessorizes, had her dark brown tresses styled long, straight and flowing down to the bottom of her back with a center part.

At one point during the red carpet, Lil Uzi Vert joined D’Amelio for a round of posing in front of all those photographers.

The rapper and singer (born Symere Bysil Woods), 27, showed off his unique sense of styled in extremely baggy black jeans that were matched with a white dress shirt, cropped blue vest sweater and a red, white and blue tie and matching sneakers.

Many of the images showcased his array of facial tattoos, as well as his eye-catching hairdo that saw his dark locks styled in two pointed sections that stood several inches off his head.

And despite her smiley demeanor, D’Amelio previously joked that she had plans to get back at the people who had slimed her and her sister, Dixie, in years past

‘I got slimed at the KCAs in 2021, saw my sister get slimed at last year’s show and now, no one is safe with me as co-host,’ the Dancing With The Stars  season 31 winner teased about her responsibilities as a co-host of the show in a press release.

‘Nate and I will make sure this year’s show is full of unexpected Slime shots, impressive dances and surprise tricks along the way,’ she added.

Burleson, 41, chimed in, ‘Hosting NFL Slimetime is always a blast, and I can’t wait to bring that same energy and Slime as co-host of the iconic Kids’ Choice Awards!’ 

The event featured appearances from Melissa McCarthy, Pete Davidson, Halle Bailey, Awkwafina, Seth Rogen, Michelle Rodriguez, and Chris Pine, among others celebrities.

Elizabeth Olsen, Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Millie Bobbie Brown, Natalie Portman and Sarah Jessica Parker are up for the favorite movie actress award.

On the men’s side, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Dwayne Johnson, Jim Carrey, Ryan Reynolds and Tom Cruise were up for favorite movie actor.

D’Amelio was a competitive dancer for over 10 years before starting her social media career in 2019, with a lip syncing video alongside her friend that she posted on TikTok.

More dance videos would follow on the social media platform, which ultimately led to the Norwalk, Connecticut native earning the distinction of being the most-followed creator on TikTok in March 2020.

The social media star ended up losing the most-followed creator on TikTok honors when she was surpassed by Khaby Lame in July 2022.

As her star power skyrocketed, D’Amelio began transferring some of her attention to acting, which led to her making her feature film debut with a voice role in the animated film in StarDog And TurboCat (2020).

Since 2021, she has starred in the Hulu docuseries The D’Amelio Show and the Snap original reality show Charli vs. Dixie 

The broadcast for the 36th Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards started at 4 p.m. PT/ p.m. PT on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, Nick Jr., TVLand, CMT and MTV2.
