Prisoners have threatened to kill a Melbourne nightclub promoter as he was moved into the main cell block of Bali’s notorious Denpasar police station.

Screams of: ‘I kill you, I kill you’ were directed at William Cabantog, 35, as he carried a sleeping mat into the holding cells on Friday.

Cabantog was arrested on Saturday during raids of homes and nightclubs in the resort village of Canggu, along with his co-accused David Van Iersel, 38.

Denpasar police drug crime unit boss Mikael Hutabarat said the pair were found in an office of the Lost City nightclub, along with cocaine, and later returned positive urine tests.

A police statement said the men were arrested with 1.12 grams of cocaine and they faced prison sentences ranging from four to 12 years if found guilty.

Cabantog had been kept in temporary detention alongside Van Iersel, though the pair have since been moved to their new living quarters, 7 News reported.

They hid their faces as they carried their mats and shopping bags filled with food and possessions to the main cell.

The pair were told to remove their tops as police searched their bodies, to the humiliating jeers of the other prisoners.

They were eventually ushered into their new living quarters, which they will share with 96 other prisoners.

They will spend at least 60 days in the main holding cell while police investigate the circumstances surrounding their arrest.
